Mikron Tool: all change at the top

Markus Schnyder, head of division at the successful Swiss tool specialist, Mikron Tool has handed over the management of the company to his long-time business companion Elio Lupica during an emotional farewell ceremony.

After 24 years at the forefront of Mikron Tool, Mr Schnyder is retiring, but will still be available to the company on a consultancy basis.

Elio Lupica graduated in business administration from the University of Lugano and joined Mikron Tool in 2005 as the head of finance and controlling. His industry knowledge, deep understanding of processes and proven organisational skills led him take over the management of the Agno, Rottweil and Shanghai sites in 2016.

In addition, he was deputy division head alongside Markus Schnyder for many years and together they moulded the company into the successful global business it is today.

Looking to the future – via a strong strategic vision and relentless drive to innovate, the company will continue to grow its market position through continuous investment in the latest technologies and maintaining its high standards of quality and performance.

In a company statement both Mr Schnyder and Mr Lupica stated that much of the company’s success is down to its highly skilled and motivated team of employees actively driving the company to new levels of technological excellence. They add both the workforce and the company will remain a reliable partner for profitable machining solutions.

The Mikron Tool division, which employs around 225 people globally, develops and produces small and medium-sized high-precision cutting tools for the high-end market with a particular focus on difficult to machine materials such as stainless steels and heat-resistant alloys.
