Now you’re torquing

Claiming the largest working envelope in its class having a maximum swing diameter of 3,200mm with a workpiece height of 2,100mm and now featuring in the Toyoda machining centre portfolio, is the heavier duty FH1600SW-i available through 2D CNC Machinery.

Featuring a 150mm horizontal quill geared spindle with a 55kW drive system, it delivers a massive torque output of 2,115Nm making this latest machining centre ideal for heavy operational cutting cycles. As a result, it is able to deliver high material removal rates with in-built orders of precision for positioning and repeatability.

A full 360,000 position NC table accommodates pallet sizes of 1,600mm by 1,250mm which are capable of supporting loads up to eight tonnes. Axis travels are 3,000mm in X- covered at up to 35m/minute, Y- is 1,900mm and Z- 2,100mm, each having rapid traverse rates of 40m/minute. In addition, the W-axis quill has a travel of 750mm with a rapid feed rate up to 20m/minute.

Through the geared spindle unit, maximum advantage can be taken of the torque available, however, a spindle speed up to 4,000rpm provides the capability to also accommodate free-cutting materials. The Toyoda FH1600SW-i also has a tool storage capacity of 120 units.

PES_Jul16_NP_MC_2D CNC (2)Linear positioning accuracy in each of the X-, Y-, and Z- axes is ±0.003mm at full axis stroke with a repeatability of ±0.0015mm. Meanwhile, the rotary axis is accurate to ±7 arc seconds and having a repeatability of ±3.5 arc seconds.
