A breath of fresh air

Hosokawa Micron has announced the launch of a new range of clean air technology fettling booths for use in applications in engineering, aerospace, automotive and metalworking industries.

Designed to reduce operator exposure to potentially harmful fettling dust, polishing dust and swarf, the booths create a safe working environment for operators undertaking polishing, drilling or filing activities where airborne particles are generated.
There are two types of booth available: the Mobile Fettling Trolley or the Static Fettling Bench. The designs incorporate rear extract filter plenums which allow a horizontal air flow to extract airborne particles away from the operators breathing zone. Mobile Fettling Trolley

The plug and play back draft extracted booth incorporates a two stage filtration system comprising a replaceable panel filter and HEPA filter to H13 grade standard. HEPA filtered air is discharged into the factory working area. Constantly monitored by alarm activating pressure gauges, a high performance extraction fan ensures a reliable air flow through the booth, even when the filter cells are dirty, maintaining a safe working environment for operators.

Complete with lighting and an integrated Type H vacuum cleaner for the safe removal of swarf or larger filings the wheeled trolley is easily transportable around the workshop.

Static Fettling Bench

Mounted to a fixed point in the workshop the Static Fettling Bench ducts exhaust to a remotely located reverse jet pulse or shaker filter with dust collection in a sealed bin for easy disposal. Air from the booth is extracted through an H13 grade standard filter and HEPA filtered air is discharged into the atmosphere. Units can be supplied with explosion relief panel if required.

The unit can incorporate localised on tool extraction and a bench area cleaning vacuum and electrical sockets if needed. Both static and mobiles units can be supplied fully ATEX compliant and are available in a range of standard sizes and materials of construction.
