A world in motion

Such is the breadth of its product offering for the production environment at this year's MACH event that HepcoMotion will be taking two stands.

The purpose of the first stand is to showcase its advanced linear and rotary motion products with exhibits including the company's new Timing Belt Rings. The second stand focuses on machine building and automation solutions and will feature a further two new products: RapiLok No-Drill connectors for its Machine Construction System (MCS) and the Linear Measuring Indicator.

As a manufacturer itself, HepcoMotion believes it understands the needs of the production engineering environment. This insight informs the development of its rotary, linear and continuous motion products. Those appearing at MACH 2012 include the flagship GV3 Precision Linear Motion and Transmission System and the Driven Track System (DTS). SBD Sealed Belt-Driven Linear Actuators will be demonstrated on single and multi-axis systems and the SDM Screw Driven Module will be shown in two sizes.

A range of components for use in arduous, high load pick and place gantry applications will be on show. The company is also a technology leader in rotary motion with its comprehensive PRT2 Precision Ring and Track System that allows ring tracks and continuous motion circuits of limitless size and variation to be built.

In line with its continuous development policy, HepcoMotion has just added a range of ring slides that have been modified with a timing pulley profile. Their design has a self-aligning V-groove in the pulley which eliminates the need for flanges and the entire assembly provides many further performance benefits. High driving force and speed – up to 5m/s at the periphery – are complemented by accuracy and low backlash. Requiring no lubrication or re-tensioning, these new additions also run very quietly.

Exhibits under the banner: ‘Machine Building and Automation Solutions', include the Winkel High Load Guide System and Zimm Screw Jacks. Also a longstanding mainstay of this range is the MCS Machine Construction System that will, for the first time, be shown with new RapiLok No-Drill Connectors that enable quick and easy profile connection. Also demonstrated will be the ease in which its GV3 linear slides can be mounted to MCS machine structures.

The clear benefit of these products is a significant reduction in assembly times and associated costs. Neater and aesthetically more appealing than the conventional drilled fixing option, RapiLok is cost-effective, efficient and also brings the benefit of reduced inventory.

Another new system is the Linear Measuring Indicator (LMI). In addition to providing precise length measurement with the ability to be matched with HepcoMotion GV3 slides, this easy to install, compact product can also be adapted for rotary applications where angular measurement is required. Highly versatile and therefore economical, LMI offers repeatable, precise measurement to improve productivity and reduce rejects in many industrial applications.
