ABB has dedicated the latest episode in its Robot Podcast series to provide an insight into the many complex issues that car manufacturers face.

as they look to evolve their existing production facilities to accommodate rapidly increasing global demand for electrified vehicles.

The 30-minute podcast is hosted by TV presenter and engineering enthusiast, Fran Scott. For each Robot Podcast episode, Mr Scott is joined by industry experts to discuss how robots of all shapes and sizes are making work safer and more efficient for people and companies the world over.

Providing expert insight in the electric vehicles episode are Patrick Matthews, director of global assembly for robotics auto; Isobel Sheldon, chief strategy officer, Britishvolt; and Ade Thomas, founder of Green TV which partnered with ABB to launch the first ever World EV Day.

Together, the leading EV industry figures discuss battery production; the implementation of production methods that are designed to drive down the purchase price of EVs; the issue of scalable manufacturing; and the use of renewable energy sources to power production facilities.

The Electric Vehicle episode is the latest in the six-episode Robot Podcast series, with further episodes to follow later in the year.
