Kent-based AD Engineering has invested in new advanced machinery and improved its operations after securing a five-figure funding injection from NatWest.

The firm, which specialises in precision multi-axis CNC machine engineering for the sub sea, aerospace, space & transport sectors, has used the funding package to purchase a new state of the art machine – a Muratec MT100i/T2 Twin Spindle Turning Centre – to manufacture essential metalwork components, which will form part of wider engineering structures for clients.

Investment in the fully automated machinery will enable AD Engineering to meet existing client demands and its arrival will complement the firm’s existing CNC equipment portfolio and help the business operate more effectively and efficiently.

The machinery will give AD Engineering the ability to process repeat volume production runs quickly and more efficiently, resulting in fast turnaround times and unrivalled build consistency for customers.

Founded in 1993 AD Engineering has consistently adapted its business model to ensure its growth and sustainability, including the investment in sophisticated CNC technologies. Under the stewardship of owner and managing director, Carlos Forlese, the business has plans to grow the workforce to meet increasing demands for international orders.

Mr Forlese said: “Agility has been key to the success of our business and regular investment in the latest CNC technologies helps us ensure we stay ahead of the game and futureproofs our business for growth. NatWest has been invaluable both in its support and the funding it has provided, which has enabled our most recent purchase. They had a unique understanding of our business needs and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. Over the next 12 months we plan to grow our business even further, increasing capacities and investing in our workforce.”

Lucas Douch, relationship manager, NatWest, said: “AD Engineering is a perfect example of a firm which is willing to invest and diversify in order to ensure the longevity of the business. The funding we have provided will enable the business to meet current demand, but also develop new opportunities and support new job creation in the local area.”
