Adaptive machining for removing of casting defects

TTL has launches another technology project, demonstrating pin bump, gate and trailing edge encapsulation removal.

Using GOM blue light 3D scanning, TTL’s own Process Automation Manager (PAM) and highly customised Siemens NX CAM software, TTL generates a Digital Twin of each individual casting and utilises PAM’s automatic feature detection routines to calculate CNC machining toolpaths that precisely match the actual geometry of each part.
