Aerospace certification success will open new doors for Norfolk engineering company

A Norfolk-based engineering company is set to expand into the defence and aerospace industries after securing a key industry certification. 

A Norfolk-based engineering company is set to expand into the defence and aerospace industries after securing a key industry certification.

AKP Ltd, which provides CNC machining services, has been awarded the prestigious AS9100 Rev D aerospace certification by globally recognised certification body NQA.

Gaining the certification is a big deal for AKP and will enable it to bid for business from major defence and aerospace organisations worldwide. The company currently employs 15 staff at its Great Yarmouth base and supplies the subsea, oil and gas, automotive, motorsport and marine industries.

Being in a position now to supply the aerospace and defence industries will open a wealth of opportunities for the business and assist with their expansion and growth plans.

Managing director, Wayne Read enthused: “This presentation was the culmination of more than a year’s hard work and represents the first stage of our diversification and growth programme. I am immensely proud of our team for this achievement – this certification is testament to our commitment and dedication to supply a first class service and we are excited at the opportunities it will afford us.”
