Mr Woodthorpe joins the company after a long and successful career at a leading supplier of sawing machines, where he oversaw the day-to-day running of the business. The skills and knowledge he’s developed over his 19 years there, including customer and supplier relations, as well as a deep understanding of logistics, will be brought to the fore in his new position.
“Andy’s appointment is part of RK’s long-term development plan that will help futureproof the business as we continue to grow and develop,” said Simon Rood, director and general manager, RK International Machine Tools. “His experience will play a part in our ongoing diversification, strengthen our product portfolio and further enhance our customer relationships.”
Initially, Mr Woodthorpe will be responsible for first-line response to customer telephone enquiries for machine tool sales, sales office activities and the external sales team, forecasting and CRM reporting, along with developing the consumable sales activities and overseeing RK’s entry into new market sectors.
