Arlington Aerospace swoops for second acquisition in as many months

Arlington Aerospace, the global supply chain integrator, has acquired another aerospace company in its bid to take customers to greater heights of efficiency.

EDV UK, a Sheffield-based precision rotary tooling manufacturer, has become the latest business to be acquired by Arlington, strengthening its offer of providing endmills, drills, reamers and special custom tooling to the aerospace industry and beyond.

The move for EDV UK follows Arlington’s acquisition in June of NWP, a Birkenhead business with 30 years’ experience in supplying fasteners, cutting tools and aircraft components to the likes of Airbus, Hawker Beechcraft and BAE Systems.

John Brazier, CEO of Arlington Aerospace stated: “We are very pleased to welcome EDV UK. Their strong experience in the specialist cutting tooling sector will greatly benefit the strategic direction of our aerospace division, a global pioneer in supply chain integration.”

Bob Young, general manager of EDV UK added: “Our 50 years’ industry knowledge will be perfectly complemented by the additional skills and experience of Arlington Aerospace, enhancing our offering to add an extra competitive edge. We are very excited about the future opportunities which will arise.”

With the EDV business now under the company’s wing, Arlington’s ability to provide specialist tools only adds further value to its integration offer.

As one of the only companies to offer single source design, manufacture, metrology, service and maintenance and PPM (planned preventive maintenance), Arlington’s reach is all-encompassing. It also operates a truly pioneering approach to diversity and equality – some 30% of the current workforce are registered disabled.
