Three Puma's and one Lynx will be present, all making their UK debuts. The new Puma series comprises three different sizes of lathe, which with different bed lengths and different technical specifications equates to 36 different models. A wide variety of additional technical options such as belt driven or built-in motor spindles/sub-spindles, tow-along or servo-driven tailstocks and a Y-axis ensures they can be tailored to every requirement. Puma range machines to be exhibited at MACH include the Puma 2100SY, which has an 8 inch chuck/65mm bar work diameter; a 5,000rpm 22kW/358Nm built-in main spindle and 6,000rpm 15kW/134NM sub-spindle; C-axis; live tooling; and a Y-axis. The Puma 2600M has a 10 inch chuck/76mm bar work diameter; 3,500rpm belt-driven spindle (22kW/625Nm); a C-axis: and live tooling. The Puma 3100XLY is equipped with a 12 inch chuck/102mm bar working diameter. This machine also features a high torque 3,000rpm built-in spindle (30kW/1203Nm), a 12 station milling turret and a 130mm Y-axis. The new general purpose Lynx 300 series is an extension to the successful range of 2- and 3-axis value driven Lynx lathes. Unlike existing Lynx machines – the new 300 series has a 10 inch chuck/76mm bar work diameter, and has full C-axis and live tooling capability. Mills CNC
