Bowers Group’s Aman Athwal bags prestigious apprenticeship award

Bowers Group is delighted to announce that its technical engineering apprentice Aman Athwal has been awarded Apprentice of the Year in the category of Engineering & Manufacturing at this year’s West Yorkshire Apprenticeship awards.

The event took place at Bradford City Football Club in early June where guests enjoyed a drinks reception, three course dinner, and a special awards ceremony hosted by journalist and broadcaster Harry Gration MBE, and Harpreet Kaur, winner of BBC’s The Apprentice 2022.

Aman Athwal said: “I am absolutely delighted to have won Engineering & Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year. I’m really proud to have bought this award home both for the company and my family, who I know are proud of me. I have gone above and beyond at Bowers Group and it’s great to have that recognised.”

Since the start of his apprenticeship at Bowers Group, Mr Athwal has been an integral part of the success of the company’s new digital external micrometer, the DigiMic. Academically, he has successfully gained four engineering qualifications in his time at Bowers Group. In addition, he’s been a driving force behind numerous ideas to improve health and safety, and charity work.
