Reflecting its relevance to the global aerospace manufacturing industry, Heller Machine Tools will unveil a new range of 5-axis machining centres at the forthcoming Farnborough International Airshow.

Following the recent successful introduction of the company's H Series, the flexible F Series will add four 5-axis machining centres, featuring SK 40 and HSK 63 spindle tapers, to the company's product portfolio. Heller's high torque 5-axis line-up provides potential customers with the option of choosing between two different machine configurations.

Heller premium models FP 2000 and FP 4000 include the provision of rapid pallet changers and are designed to deliver high levels of productivity whilst model variants feature easy to access workpiece support tables.

The 2000 models provide a generous work area of 630mm x 630mm x 830mm whilst the two 4000 models provide an increased capacity of 800mm x 800mm x 1,000mm. The new models are reported to be more than direct adaptations of the H machines. Although the machines use common components from Heller's modular building block system, the F Series' machine structure and axis configuration were specifically designed to meet the particularly demanding requirements of aerospace-related 5-axis machining.

Heller UK's Geoff Lloyd enthuses: “As the Farnborough International Airshow is regarded as one of the world's most iconic global aviation events, it represents an ideal showcase for our new F Series machines.”
