The upcoming Star GB open house from 8-10 October at its Derby Technology centre will give an opportunity to see the latest sliding head tooling developments from Team Cutting Tools from Ceratizit.

The sliding head range from Team Cutting Tools covers every element of machining from turning, milling, grooving, drilling and a wide range of associated accessories. The range includes EcoCut, MiniCut and UltraMini turning and boring tools.

“The selection of tools, toolholders, and bushes in our range provide a one-stop-shop for sliding head tooling and the Star open house is a perfect opportunity for Team Cutting Tools to highlight the full extent of the range on offer,” said Tony Pennington, Managing Director, Ceratizit UK & Ireland.

He added: “With the latest Star machines and our tooling under one roof it will be an ideal opportunity for customers to come along to discuss specific requirements and our Technical Sales and Applications Engineers will be on-hand to ensure they get the best cutting tool solution.”

In addition to talking about the latest cutting tools, visitors can also see them in action, with Team Cutting Tools providing tooling for live demos on the latest Star machines.

Of particular interest for turning will be WNT’s System SOGX turning inserts with four useable cutting edges. The inserts are tangentially mounted to ensure high process security, even under extreme cutting conditions.

This is enhanced by the availability of a coolant supply that can be precisely directed and fed from either the rear or side of the toolholder. The SOGX inserts are available in two sizes, 7 and 11mm, each with a choice of tool coating options making them ideal for a wide range of applications from cutting steel, non-ferrous and titanium materials.
