Citizen Machinery has completely remodelled its pre-owned showroom and demonstration centre.

Citizen Machinery has completely remodelled its pre-owned showroom and demonstration centre adjacent to the UK headquarters in Park Avenue, Bushey, near Watford.

The complete refurbishment that left only the outer skin of the building has been undertaken to meet the rise in demand for used Citizen CNC sliding head and Miyano fixed head turn/mill centres which have a known history and service record.

Managing director Geoff Bryant explained: “There has been a huge demand for pre-owned machines and we even have a waiting list of potential users and customers who are keen to adjust their capacity demands without having the immediate outlay for a new machine.”

The complete refurbishment of the 2,200ft² facility involved new roof, windows, access doors and internal walls to achieve the latest energy saving capabilities in the building. As a result, it will provide an unhindered working and showroom/demonstration area plus additional space to accommodate spare parts and accessories which have seen significant growth in demand over recent months.

Citizen Machinery is maintaining its presence in Brierley Hill, West Midlands through the previous Miyano Machinery facility where local support can be provided across the product range. As Mr Bryant outlines, many customers want direct support for pre-owned machines from the original supplier. As a result, they receive the latest application knowledge and service support to cover areas such as machine usage, tooling, programming and production advice plus full training and warranties when required.

He said: “From our existing pre-owned service we have drawn many start-up companies into ‘one-hit' machining cycle capability who have found once they can appreciate the features available and benefits achievable, have moved forward to maximise their competitiveness and productivity by investing in new machines.”
