By coordinating his recent sales and longstanding applications expertise, he was able to undercut a major competitor by demonstrating cycle time savings of some 100 seconds.
Said sales director Darren Wilkins: “Warren has built-up an excellent track record in turning from being an apprentice then progressing through applications, senior programming and production engineering. Prior to joining Citizen, he held a position as works manager for a Midlands subcontract company.”
The appointment follows reorganisation of the sales operation to expand customer support in response to latest machine introductions that have increased both the Citizen CNC sliding head and Miyano fixed head turn-mill centre ranges. The move will also provide greater support to increased market activity especially since MACH 2016 in April. As a result, sales areas have been increased from four to five with Mr Garratt taking over the West Midlands and North Wales.
His turning experience over the last 22 years has covered multi-axis fixed head, sliding head as well as cam machines and he maintains over his career, he has been involved with most sectors of production related industries. He has machined almost all material types and rarely comes across features on a workpiece that he has not programmed, tooled-up or been involved in problem solving. He has even participated in the success of a major R&D project for one of the world’s leading prestige automotive groups.
Mr Garratt commented: “Over the years I have worked across all the fixed head and sliding head machines that could be competitive to Citizen and Miyano and I feel this will prove invaluable to help our customers improve performance, increase efficiency and critically, lower their cost-per-part produced.”
