With Industry 4.0 and the Smart Factory at the core of the display, visitors to the Walter stand will be able to see, witness and test a range of apps and digital tools all designed to save time and money – on every production application and all material types – via intuitive touchscreens and tool displays, as well as a large central screen.
For example, with Walter’s Tool·ID, it is possible to clearly identify and continuously monitor all the tools used in a production process. Tool life is also checked and tools are always replaced at exactly the right time. Tool data can be transferred directly from the presetting device to the machine and the machine parameters can be evaluated.
“For Walter, Engineering Kompetenz stands for expertise in digital solutions,” says Mirko Merlo, president of Walter AG. “And at EMO the company’s display will provide visitors with a glimpse into the future of Walter as a creator of digital transformations, using solutions that can truly unlock the hidden potential of digitalisation and together with the customer, will always find the best solution.
"Outstanding tools are the foundation of our success,” he continues, “but our customers quite rightly expect much more – they want reliable, tailored processes and increased efficiency levels by using high-performance digital solutions, for example.
“At EMO, we will demonstrate the advantages that we can already offer thanks to our development towards achieving Industry 4.0. And visitors can learn about the steps beyond this, towards the Smart Factory concept."
Indeed, Walter’s display will highlight the company’s close collaboration with Comara, a company which specialises in data and networking, and which is now part of the Walter family.
