Dormer Pramet expands grooving and parting-off range

The Pramet GL range for grooving and parting-off applications has been expanded with many new additions for various operations.

Pramet GL tools now include the GLAF for external grooving with high-pressure coolant; GLAG for internal grooving with high-pressure coolant; GLSF and GLSG for various types of face grooving; additional rigid GLSF-G with larger shanks; several new tools and blades for the smallest inserts GL1; and new modular blades BLS BS.

All grooving tools have reinforced blades for higher stability during cutting, even at high speeds.

The Pramet GL inserts are supplemented by a family of single-sided GL-S inserts, by the smallest inserts GL1, and by the biggest insert GL6-D800, with cutting width 8mm. The single-sided GL-S inserts are available in two geometries PM and PR, which are designed for extra deep grooving operations and parting-off operations.

The single cutting edge is especially useful in applications where the quality of the surface of the parted-off bar is critical. An individual edge prevents unintentional scratching on the surface while grooving deeper than 24mm.

All new Pramet products continue the Dormer Pramet promise to be simply reliable.
