Deburring and surface treatment specialist Ellesco will be well-represented at EMO Hannover via its partners Timesavers, Autopulit and PEM Tec, who will be highlighting their deburring, polishing and electro-chemical processing systems.

With over 55,000 machines in service, Timesavers is a leading provider of deburring and precision grinding systems and at EMO the company will be highlighting its precision grinding machine - the 81 series, a calibration machine (exhibited in sheet configuration), that can handle titanium, stainless steel, aluminium and other metals and composites up to 7,500mm long and 2,100mm wide, which are clamped to the sliding table using a vacuum system. The 81 series grinds both faces to ensure thickness is controlled with a tolerance of 25µm attainable.

Timesavers will also be showing the 42 RB series WWRBW 1,350mm, the Red Dot Award winning rotary brush machine, which is seen as the ultimate tool for deburring, finishing, removing laser oxide skin and/or edge-rounding in one pass.

At the other end of the scale, Timesavers’ manual machine range will be represented by the 10 series manual grinder, which provides a cost-effective mechanical alternative to conventional grinding, deburring, finishing and even polishing of a range of components.

On the Autopulit stand (Hall 11, stand D16) visitors will be able to see and discuss a wide range of robotic, automatic and semi-automatic machines for polishing, belt grinding, deburring and micro-finishing metal pieces, from one of Europe’s leading manufacturers. The systems manufactured by Autopulit are used for weld dressing, graining, brushing, deburring, polishing and general surface finishing and blending of complex and free form shapes.

PEM Tec will be showcasing its latest precision electrochemical metal processing systems. Since it was formed in 1995 Pem Tec has pioneered the development of PECM technology (precise electrochemical metal) processing, a form of metal removal using the workpiece, submerged in an electrically conductive electrolyte (salt water) as a positively polarised anode, with the electrode negatively charged and pulsing to generate complex forms.

The process offers many advantages: it is a contactless process; zero electrode wear; simultaneous processing of macro and microstructures; deburring in the macro and micro range; roughing, finishing, polishing in a single operation; high surface quality and high image accuracy.

The fact that there is no heat generated or mechanical load also ensures that the workpiece suffers no structural change during the PECM process.
