Finishing touches

Industrial finishing equipment manufacturer, Guyson International will be exhibiting blast finishing machines from its entry level Formula cabinet range and a selection of Kerry branded ultrasonic baths

at the forthcoming TCT/MM Live exhibition at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry from 19-20 October 2010. The exhibition covers both rapid prototype and micro-machining applications and Guyson will be on stand P4.

The Formula blast cabinet range is ideal for light industrial use and provides a varied range of cabinet sizes and options at competitive prices. The F1400 and F1600 models are ideally suited for smoothing out step lines, finishing SLS prototypes or creating a keyed surface for painting on prototypes. The F2000 is available for blast finishing even larger components.

An optional microblast system, the Pencil Blaster will also be on show. The Pencil Blaster unit can be supplied with any new standard Formula or Euroblast cabinet, retrofitted to most blast cabinets, or used as a freestanding unit.

The units can clean or spot blast delicate or intricate components using an ultra fine micro nozzle and fine media. This compact pressure fed unit is externally fitted and uses a hardened nozzle, operated by a separate foot pedal. The microblast equipment is suitable for the micro manufacturing sector for surface preparation of such diverse products as dental implants, trauma screws, jewellery and precision watchmaker components.

Information and brochures will also be available on the recently launched Guyson RXS200 Multiblast system. Designed and engineered from the outset to ensure a high level of process and machine control, the fully automated RXS200 ensures an accurate, consistent and uniform finish to every component. Component quality, cost control and productivity can be significantly increased by eliminating the variations inherent in hand processing.

The compact nature of the machine, coupled with the quality of surface finish that can be achieved by the high level of automation, make this an ideal choice for micro component manufacturers wanting to produce a precision surface roughness on dental screws, apply a low lustre glass bead cosmetic finish to medical instruments, or shot peen spinal rods and trauma screws. To further assist the manufacturer, the Guyson RXS200 can electronically store and print validation records of the process cycle without operator intervention.
