A regular exhibitor at the Farnborough Airshow, Amari Aerospace will use the industry event to demonstrate its recently upgraded website.

Extending its reputation for excellent service in the aerospace metal distribution industry, Amari Aerospace's recently upgraded website now includes a searchable aircraft metals database. General manager, Dave Enright, explains the concept behind the added web-based functionality: “Websites should be practical as well as informative,” he advises. “The new database is accessible from the home page and users can quickly select an aerospace material specification and view its basic properties online, or download it as a printable PDF file.”

The site already holds hundreds of specifications including aluminium, steel, titanium, nickel, and copper alloy grades, covering around 85% of the most widely used metals in the industry. Amari Aerospace is committed to continually updating the list and a wider range of the commercially available alloys will be added to the database on an ongoing basis.

As well as a brief technical description of the alloy, chemical composition, alloy designations and available tempers, Amari Aerospace's datasheet includes extras such as typical applications and structure. Amari supplies the vast majority of these materials in bar, plate, sheet, tube and forgings to meet customers' deliver on demand requirements.

The new website will also feature a metals weight calculator that will allow engineers and buyers to input alloy type, form and size to return an exact figure for the theoretical weight of the raw material required.

“We are a young and progressive company and we are mindful that the customer always has a choice where to buy,” Mr Enright states. “We benefit from the strength of our global organisation, however we always maintain the high personal and local service levels that our customer base expects, and Farnborough visitors can experience this firsthand at the show.”
