Laura Morrey is taking on an exciting role of product developer and manager at one of the world’s largest independent lubricant manufacturers.

Ms Morrey, 28, has been appointed assistant industrial product manager at Fuchs Lubricants based in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, part of the Fuchs Petrolub SE Group.

She joins Fuchs from a laboratory consumables manufacturer where she spent four years and held a number of roles, including quality engineer for plastics and assistant product manager for glass.

A biomedical science graduate, Ms Morrey is now charged with assisting product manager Alex Holmes in developing new industrial ranges for Fuchs, as well as managing production issues and creating promotional materials.

She said: “I saw the job advertised and I thought it looked a perfect opportunity as I had just completed my level four qualification in marketing.

“My Dad has also worked at Fuchs for 20 years, so the company has always been on my radar. My job involves anything around getting the product to market, developing new ranges and trying to manage production issues and creating supporting literature like case studies.

“Everyone has been lovely and there are lots of opportunities to progress. At the moment, I just want to master product management and take it from there.”

Ms Morrey was involved in the launch of Fuchs’ new range of FAD-free ECOCOOL metalworking products which are exempt from labelling legislation.

Richard Rogers, head of industrial specialities, said: “We are pleased to welcome Laura to the team and she has settled in well. She has a good knowledge of what is required to bring a product to market, which will be very helpful as we continue to expand and improve our range.”
