The CNC Training Academy, one of the UK's premier CNC training organisations and part of Mills CNC, has appointed Andrew Myhill as its business development manager.

The position, created to spearhead the Academy's new business drive and, in doing so, help the organisation achieve its ambitious growth plans in the future, is multi-faceted and involves: raising the profile of the Academy with UK and Irish precision component manufacturing companies; promoting the Academy's comprehensive range of standard, advanced and specialist CNC training courses to potential customers; and positioning the Academy as a strategic training partner to those companies looking to address their own in-house skills shortages by investing in proven, professionally delivered and cost-competitive Fanuc, Heidenhain and Siemens CNC programmer and operator training.

Mr Myhill took up the new position in early September 2014 and has considerable experience in the UK manufacturing, machine tools and CNC training sectors occupying a variety of senior management roles in sales, servicing and, most recently, eight years as managing director at Fanuc UK CNC.

“The CNC Training Academy is successful. Ever since it was created back in 2010 year on year sales have grown exponentially,” he enthused. “However, 55% of turnover derives directly (and not surprisingly) from Doosan machine tool sales.

“My role is focused on growing business with non-Doosan machine tool users. With an already excellent reputation in the market combined with the Academy's experienced and dedicated team and backed by Mills CNC's considerable resources, I am confident that we'll achieve great things.”

The appointment of Mr Myhill is part of the Academy's wider expansion plans that will also see the organisation increase its CNC training capabilities by increasing the number of fully equipped training rooms available at the Mills CNC Technology Campus from two to four, and appointing new CNC trainers to meet the increase in demand.
