Guhring UK has confirmed that it is ready for the looming Brexit deadline day and regardless of the outcome, the company has made plans to ensure there is no impact on its UK customers.

Guhring UK’s managing director, Chris Weston commented: “If we get a deal or remain in Europe, there will be no change to business and we can all carry-on as before. If there is a no-deal, Guhring UK is well-positioned to service the cutting tool requirements of the UK. We have large stock levels on the shelves which are full of standard product lines.

“As we also manufacture and service here in the UK, this puts us in a position to remove the uncertainty that surrounds many tooling suppliers that do not have our combination of a UK manufacturing facility or significant stock and storage capabilities.”

He added: “We stock in the region of 60,000 line items on the shelf with over £5 million of standard product stock sat here ready to supply. There are probably another 40,000 line items that are special made to order products that are also readily available from the Aston factory in the heart of Birmingham.”

In preparation for ‘any Brexit eventuality, Guhring has added a further £1 million of standard stock items to its armoury from Germany, bringing the existing stock availability to a level that will ensure continuity of stock and service supply throughout any potential turbulent period.

“In addition to the extensive stock levels and special manufacturing services, we also have a complete re-grind to ‘as new’ service in the UK, prolonging service life and continuity of supply even further,” Mr Weston concluded.
