The HCR range of ‘cobots’ puts safety at a premium while installation costs are heavily reduced with units up to a third lower than regular industrial robots, Dugard claims. The company will be showcasing the new cobot range at the Robotics and Automation event taking place at Arena MK from 10-11 October and at its open house from 17-18 October in Hove.
Safety is a vitally important factor for cobots as often they are integrated with humans. Traditional robots require fencing and extensive guarding to prevent potential injury. Hanwha cobots however have successfully addressed this issue with collision detection at 25~150Nm, equipping the cobots with sensors that enable them to work safely beside their human counterparts. They are built with joint rotation limit, joint speed limit, TCP speed limit and a virtual safety fence to control operational speed, providing confidence in terms of stability and safety.
