Hoffmann Group announces new CEO

Effective January 1^st 2017, Mr Blackburn will take over as chair of the board of executive directors with the aim of promoting growth both nationally and internationally, and leading Hoffmann into the digital age.

Dr Blackburn is a pioneer in the field of digitalisation. As president of supply chain operations & information services at BASF Group he has led the global transformation and digitalisation of the chemical giant, amongst other responsibilities.

Before joining BASF in 2007, the father of four held leadership roles at IBM and Deloitte. Today, Robert Blackburn is both chair and member of several supervisory boards and teaches as a lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

Born in the USA, he completed his BSc at the universities of Maryland and Heidelberg and obtained a Masters in the field of Management from the University of Virginia. He subsequently gained his doctorate in Economics at the Julius-Maximilius University of Würzburg.
