Aston-based HydraForce Hydraulics has celebrated its 30th anniversary of trading in the UK, with an event at Birmingham’s Millennium Point.

HydraForce, manufacturer of hydraulic valves and manifold systems, bought its employees together with families and friends for a celebration party, with over 800 people attending the family event.

Tony Casale, vice president of HydraForce Inc (the parent company based in Chicago, Illinois) flew in to attend the party and was one of the key speakers at the event.

He said: “Here at HydraForce we see our employees as part of our family and the success of the business is due to the efforts and commitment of our staff. The facility in Birmingham is the second largest company in the HydraForce group and I want to say a personal thank you to the UK Leadership team and the employees here in England for their continued support and congratulate them on their success”

Tony Brown, managing director of HydraForce in Birmingham, echoed Tony Casale’s sentiments when he told the audience: “We are proud to be an employer here in Birmingham and are pleased to say that we are one of the biggest in the Aston area. This year alone we have created more than 100 jobs and we are looking forward to our continued success as we approach the end of this incredible year where we anticipate sales exceeding £110 million.”

The speeches were followed by a special performance by local group, Aston Performing Arts Academy, who were chosen as part of the business’ commitment to supporting the local community.

The company was first established in Chicago, USA in 1985. The Birmingham site is the European Headquarters of the business. Now based at the Advanced Manufacturing Hub in Aston, HydraForce remains a privately-owned company, with manufacturing facilities across the world, including Birmingham, North America, Brazil and a manifold assembly plant in Asia.

With plans to increase its sales to circa £130 million in 2019, and further add to its current employee numbers of 730, the company has expanded its market beyond Europe and has started to export to Asia over the last year.

The company designs and manufactures high performance hydraulic fluid power cartridge valves, custom manifolds and electro-hydraulic controls.
