It’s all in a click

New from Tesa and making its debut at MACH is the Tesa-Scan 52 Reflex-Click optical measuring system that enables the user to measure round symmetrical parts without any prior knowledge of programming. The operator simply places the part, presses a button and the scanning process commences. The resultant dimensions – length, diameter, angles, threads and radii for example – are displayed and a measuring program created. Using the mouse to click on the measurement that has been taken, the user can drag it to any reference position and the program will be modified automatically. If a part has already been programmed by the machine it is automatically recognised and recalled. With its short cycle times, the system is designed specifically for shopfloor use. Its main features include automatic diameter and length measurement without prior programming; automatic part recognition in the case of pre-existing programs; and accuracies of 2µm on diameters and 5µm on lengths. Inspection reports can be produced to meet specific requirements. A robust mechanical construction incorporating a granite base provides rigidity and repeatability on components up to 52mm diameter and 300mm in length. Available options include a supplementary rotational axis, offering the capability of measuring dynamic features such as runout, coaxiality, across flats measurements and circularity. Tesa
