Kyocera SGS invests $9.5 million to establish Tech Hub in Virginia

Kyocera SGS Precision Tools, a specialist in solid carbide rotary tool manufacturing, has announced it will invest $9.5 million to establish the Kyocera SGS Tech Hub, LLC, in Danville, Virginia.

The new Kyocera SGS Tech Hub creates a technology driven, solutions based development location complementary to the existing structure of Kyocera SGS. The Hub provides a collaboration space for Kyocera SGS partners to realise repeatable, subtractive processes providing measurable results and continuous feedback in a corporate community environment.

Ultimately, the Tech Hub will deliver a new approach to the design and production of cutting tools in partnership with the end user and tailored to meet their individual needs.

The Tech Hub will focus on four key areas: process development and optimisation; project support; training and education; and strategic manufacturing inspection. These areas of concentration aim to enhance the overall Kyocera SGS product and services offering as the Tech Hub will provide technically advanced solutions as a result of implementing a customer driven, collaborative manufacturing philosophy.

Kyocera SGS chose to establish the Tech Hub in Danville as a result of a strategic partnership with the State of Virginia.
