Yamazaki Mazak has confirmed its commitment to helping UK and European manufacturers increase productivity and profitability by pushing ahead with the building of a new European Technology Centre on the site of its European headquarters in Worcester.

The new European Technology Centre will welcome its first guests at during an opening week taking place between 25th November and 1st December 2009. Interested parties can book places by calling by contacting Mazak directly, either through the website, by phone, or through local sales representatives.

Occupying some 2,500m², the European Technology Centre (ETC) features an all glass frontage and environmentally friendly architectural design. The 1,320m² showroom is designed to display the complete range of Mazak machine tools together under one roof, from the smallest 2-axis lathe to the largest most advanced Integrex e-Machines, as well as Mazak laser cutting machines.

Visitors to the ETC opening week event will see machine tools that were launched at EMO Milan, including the Quick Turn Smart Series that provides value and performance for 2- and 3-axis turning; the Megaturn Nexus 900, a large capacity, rigid, high performance vertical turning centre; and the Slant Turn Nexus 550M, designed for the heavy-duty machining of large diameter components. Also on display will be the Integrex e-Ramtec that Mazak claims gives significant productivity benefits in the machining of large parts, including deep inner diameter turning and milling using the ram spindle.

“This significant investment shows Yamazaki Mazak's support for manufacturing and ensures we are best placed to demonstrate how value, innovation and performance will lead to increased productivity and profitability for Mazak customers,” said David Jack, Mazak's European group managing director. “The opening week will give visitors an opportunity to see the very latest machines and the technology and manufacturing support we can offer in action.”
