Let the train take the strain

To reference a particular episode of Family Guy (if you watch it you'll know what I mean), one thing that really grinds my gears is the gene

wirelessrally appalling internet and mobile connectivity that we have to endure as residents of this country.

Through mobile devices and apps, we now have the capability to run our lives on the move from just about anywhere on earth. What we don't have however is the one vital ingredient to make all this possible - connectivity. To use an automotive analogy, our devices are swashbuckling Bugatti Veyrons - but the fuel in the tank is weak, tepid tea!

One of the worst places to use a mobile device is on a train which is why this press release is a definite step in the right direction. How many times have your efforts to hold a simple conversation, send an email or browse a website been thwarted by those damn tunnels? It seems all that is needed to break connectivity is a particularly tall tree, a passing albatross or the wrong kind of leaves on the line. Trains are actually good places to work if you're on a long journey so decent mobile access is a real godsend.

One day, all trains may be made this way!
