Machine valet service enhances value and performance

Cutting fluid specialist Jemtech (UK) and Mori Seiki (UK) are pooling their resources in a partnership designed to enhance the service offered to Mori Seiki customers and deliver cost-savings and improvements to component quality and working environments.

The new partnership is offering a machine tool valet service to ensure that the coolant systems on machine tools are maintained and operated at their optimum performance. The valet, which takes place during the scheduled machine shutdown for servicing, includes installing system cleaner 24 hours prior to the service and the removal of the old coolant, slurry and swarf. The system will then be thoroughly cleaned to ensure that all grime and potentially harmful bacteria have been removed.

The valet will be carried out by Jemtech's team of technicians who will ensure that sump and coolant system cleaning is completed during machine downtime for servicing or other maintenance work. The coolant sump can be refilled with the customer's existing brand of cutting fluid. Or, if Jemtech can see the opportunity to provide significant technical and commercial benefits, it will install an alternative Blaser product completely free of charge for the refill.

“Working with our preferred cutting fluid supplier, Jemtech (UK), this new service will deliver genuine benefits to our customers,” explained Steve Finn, vice president, sales, Mori Seiki (UK). “Cleaner machines and coolant systems produce better components with improved surface finishes, enhanced tolerance holding and extended tool life. Not only that but it extends the life of the machine due to reduced wear on critical components and less chemical stress on seals and rubbers.”

“A machine tool's annual service is the ideal time to have the coolant system deep cleaned as it greatly reduces the machine downtime and enhances the value and performance of that machine,” added Steve Coull, Jemtech UK's managing director. “The fact that our technicians are working strictly within the HSE guidelines will also provide the peace of mind that the health and safety of employees and the working environment are being taken care of.”
