The recent Made in the Midlands exhibition proved to be a celebration of the success and strength of Midlands industry.

The event attracted over 2,000 representatives of the Midlands manufacturing sector to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Almost 200 exhibitors promoted their company capabilities at the show, which led to conversations regarding future business.

Made in the Midlands CEO, Jason Pitt, said: “I could not be more pleased with the outcome of today’s show. We welcomed over 2,000 people to a world class venue, to further highlight the togetherness, passion and quality of Midlands manufacturing. The exhibitors exemplified the united strength of the Midlands manufacturing community.”

The exhibition included seminars from a number of figures from the sector. Jaguar Land Rover’s supply chain & external engagement manager, Michael Mychajluk, welcomed a host of visitors to his seminar reviewing JLR’s record-breaking sales year. Managing director of Hadley Group, Stewart Towe CBE, explained to guests the worldwide growth of their company in an impassioned seminar.

Paul Colegate of Faro Technologies said: “It’s been a lot bigger event this year and we have received a wealth of leads. Faro always get something out of the exhibition and we are on the verge of completing another deal from this event.”

Made in the Midlands were recently invited to sit in the All Party Parliamentary Manufacturing Group. The company has since reassured members that their voices will be heard at the highest levels of government.

Commercial director of Salop Design and Engineering, Christopher Greenough, added: “The exhibition was absolutely fantastic. There was more footfall and stands than ever. This show is the perfect example that UK manufacturing is alive and kicking. We are all here to bring more connections together, more work and to keep the work here in the Midlands.”

Threeway Pressings raised £1,650 in support of West Midlands Air Ambulance with their charity raffle at the exhibition.
