Mazak launches website for Portuguese customers

Mazak has strengthened its commitment to Portuguese customers with the launch of a dedicated website for its sales and service operation.

Mazak created a dedicated sales and service channel for the Portuguese market, to work alongside its long-time distributor, Normil, in 2020. The new website, which went live in September, is intended to raise awareness of the machine tool manufacturers’ capabilities in the country and offer an easy access resource for further information. The new website can be found at www.mazakeu.pt.

The website has specialist areas for Integrex, 5-axis, turning, vertical machining centres, horizontal machines and laser, along with sections for automation solutions and Mazak’s Smooth Technology CNC. In addition, the website details aftersales and service solutions available to Mazak customers, including application support, parts and training.

Alan Mucklow, managing director UK, Eire and national distributors, who takes responsibility for Portuguese operations, says bringing the market into the official Mazak family has proved to be a major boost to customers.

He said: “We’ve had a very positive response from Portuguese customers to the creation of the direct sales channel and our on-going investment in more sales and service engineers. The dedicated website is further evidence of our commitment and confidence in our Porto-based team, which continues to grow month on month.”

Armando Gonçalves, who leads Mazak’s sales team in the Portuguese operation and has more than 17 years’ experience in the machine tool industry, says the website can serve as a first point of contact for existing customers and those who are new to Mazak: “Since the introduction of the direct sales we have benefited enormously from the support of European Headquarters and the new website is further evidence of Mazak’s faith in the Portuguese team and the potential in the market. The website is a window on our capabilities that are expanding all the time, not only in terms of machines, but also in the vitally important areas of service and aftersales support.”
