Milling focus at Soraluce summit

Soraluce will be unveiling a new range of portal milling machines – and its new factory for building them – at its Soraluce Summit 2019 open house event from 20-22 March in Bergara, Spain.

According to TW Ward CNC Machinery (Ward CNC), Soraluce’s exclusive UK and Ireland agent, the new machines include models with moving tables and with fixed/moving beams, as well as gantry milling and multi-tasking machines – all available with a full range of machining heads and additional options.

“The new machines are part of the brand’s strategic commitment that has made Soraluce a supplier of integral machining solutions,” said Ward CNC’s head of strategic accounts & projects, Stuart Lawson

“Soraluce focuses on developing technological solutions that allow customers to elevate efficiency and productivity to new levels. This includes ‘all-in-one’ multi-tasking machining where milling, turning and grinding come together in a single machine and in the same set-up - meaning that set-up times become spindle running times.”

The Summit will bring together leading professionals to share experiences and expertise, as well as enabling visitors to view the Spanish machine builder’s new Portal Factory, which is operating at full capacity.

Delegates will also be able to witness – in a live production environment – some of Soraluce’s smart technology advances such as DAS+ (Dynamics Active Stabiliser) and DWS (Dynamic Workpiece Stabiliser). These allow machine capacities to be raised to new heights, increasing stock removal rates, boosting productivity by up to a claimed 300% and doubling cutting capacity.

There will also be demonstrations of the new Smart HMI interface and the VSET for improvements in workpiece alignment cycle times, as well as insights into projects that have been specifically developed for customers.
