Metalworking fluid manufacturer Houghton has announced the global launch of its new fluid management software, FluidTrend.

A cloud-based software accessible through a customer portal, FluidTrend is designed to support new and existing customers both onsite and on the road.

Lee Bowditch, commercial and country director at Houghton, said: “Having the ability to log-in from any mobile device was incredibly important to us when developing FluidTrend. The software provides our clients with easy access to immediate, real-time data, empowering them to make quick and decisive decisions regarding their industrial metalworking fluids.

“We believe this new and innovative solution will transform the way our customers manage their industrial process fluids, delivering significant operational and commercial benefits.”

Featuring a traffic light system on data including concentration percentage, tramp oil, pH, bacteria and fungi/yeast, the analytical reporting software seeks to support manufacturers throughout the supply chain with a real-time snapshot of their plant list – regardless of size or global location – helping users quickly identify any issues with their metalworking fluids.

Reporting structures are also available for display and download on areas including fluid usage and cost trends, with FluidTrend able to access and display up to a year’s worth of a machine’s historical data.

Able to communicate with its accompanying fluid management equipment and manage independently, Houghton is looking to quickly move towards Industry 4.0 with its increasingly automated service offering.

Houghton UK equipment business development manager, Rob Davey commented: “During development, we knew from the offset that we needed our product management equipment to be able to communicate with FluidTrend. The powerful combination of FluidControl, our fully automated condition monitoring and auto-top-up system, alongside FluidTrend, provides clients with the necessary accuracy alongside complete peace of mind.”

The metalworking fluid data analysis tool is available for download on the Google Play and Apple store. It is available for a complementary demo now.
