The company will also showcase hyperMILL2011 with CAD integrated solutions for Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, thinkdesign and its own hyperCAD package. Alongside these developments will be the recently introduced intelligent functions from its hyperCAD package.

The new hyperMAXX module introduced to the UK in autumn 2010, delivers optimal milling paths and maximum material removal to minimise machining times. It performs climb milling with optimised cutting conditions, thus allowing a large volume of material to be removed efficiently with high process stability. The new module is based on technology that enables dynamic feed rate adjustment to existing cutting conditions and an in feed adjustment capability.

Alongside hyperMAXX will be the new intelligent functions for hyperCAD which are said to deliver fast, reliable designs for effectively preparing existing digital models for subsequent CAM programming. The 3D CAD system now includes new display options for improved transparency, increased system performance and better quality control. Project specific CAD environments can now be created using templates and with new ‘hyperReshape' functions, the system allows users to directly modify STL data models.

Also on show will be hyperMILL 2011 – enabling users to achieve seamless connection between familiar CAD applications and a powerful CAM application. Data import issues and read/write errors can be avoided as both the CAD and CAM systems have access to the same data model. It is also possible to interact between the CAD and CAM systems at the same time and if changes are made to the CAD data, all defined CAM operations are updated automatically.

In addition to the solutions for Autodesk Inventor, hyperMILL integrations are available for SolidWorks, thinkdesign and Open Mind's own hyperCAD. Specifically adapted to the user interface of the respective CAD software, all integrations combine a wide array of machining strategies and optimisation functions offered by hyperMILL. This enables flexible and efficient CAM programming for continuous process flows and direct interfaces also allow seamless data imports from Catia V4 and V5, Pro/Engineer, NX (Siemens), Parasolid and SolidWorks. Common standard interfaces such as IGES, STEP or STL are also available for exchanging data.
