In addition to the existing SolidWorks option this latest release of PAS CMM now includes native CAD data options for Catia, ProEngineer and Siemens NX (formerly Unigraphics) and is the culmination of working with over 300 of the world's leading precision engineering companies.
PAS CMM complements a company's existing CMM infrastructure and creates a DMI file that loads straight into the relevant environment of a CMM (PC-DMIS, OpenDMIS, MCOSMOS, CAMIO/Studio, Modus). The manufacturer claims it can reduce CMM programming times by as much as 90% with 50% being typical.
“You wouldn't consider machining a 3D part without using a good CAM system so why think any differently when it comes to programming your CMM?” questions Carlton Chamarette, managing director at PAS CMM UK.
“CMM programming has traditionally been problematic and time consuming resulting in qualified operators being costly and difficult to retain. PAS CMM changes all this; it's so straightforward that first time users are programming complex 3D parts in their first day with the vast majority of customers having only two days training.”
The advanced programming features of PAS CMM allow users to significantly reduce capacity issues, programming bottlenecks, stopped parts waiting for CMM inspection and missed delivery dates resulting in happier customers and repeat business.
