New technology unveiled by Citizen

Four important new machine launches from the Citizen and Miyano stables of Citizen Machinery UK will be launched at the company's open house taking place from 4-6 October 2011.

Four important new machine launches from the Citizen and Miyano stables of Citizen Machinery UK will be launched under the ‘Innovation' banner at its open house in Bushey, Watford from 4-6 October 2011.

“These machines will prove significant in providing enhanced levels of productivity and flexibility to integrated turn/milling cycles and in particular with Citizen providing an option where all the advantages of sliding head machining can be applied to an extended bar capacity of 35mm for eagerly awaited new generation Citizen M32,” enthused managing director, Geoff Bryant.

He maintained: “This enhancement to capacity brings all the advantages of a sliding head machine without any restrictions to machining cycles, thus maintaining the practicality of handling and use of larger material for bigger part sizes.”

In addition to the latest M32-Vlll will be the new Citizen L20X and from Miyano, its range topping ABX 64SYY and popular mid-range BNA 42DHY. Also, a further six models of Citizen and Miyano machines will be under power featuring the latest enhancements that will include six models drawn from Citizen's A- and K-Series plus Miyano's BNJ-Series.

Visitors will also be able to view the newly opened and remodelled 2,200ft² pre-owned showroom and demonstration centre adjacent to the Park Avenue headquarters where used Citizen and Miyano machines will be in various stages of readiness for customers.

Other associate companies that will be involved in machine demonstrations and displaying their products will be Sandvik Coromant, Iscar, Floyd Automatic Tooling, Iemca, LNS Turbo UK, Imacco, Optimum Oils and Hainbuch (UK).

The latest Citizen M32-Vlll now in its fourth generation, adds a third Y-axis cross feed with a nine tool multi-head that is carried on the back toolpost and an additional B-axis controlling an adjustable angle rotary tool device on the gang tool slide. Driven tools have greater torque available and with 32m/minute rapid traverse and further improvements by Citizen to the innovative Streamline control, non-cutting times should be able to be reduced by a further 30% on a typical cycle.

The Citizen L20X incorporates a second Y-axis on the back spindle and is now able to carry up to 39 tools including two front and back facing double rows of driven tools on a single toolpost to further aid setting flexibility.

The 64mm capacity Miyano ABX-64SYY with a six inch chucking option, twin spindles and two 12-station turrets having ±40mm of Y-axis travel incorporates Miyano's ‘Stealth' technology ensuring thermal stability. This machine is shown for the first time alongside the Miyano fixed head BNA-42DHY mill/turn centre with main and secondary spindles and two eight and six spindle turrets. Citizen Machinery UK
