On the surface

Following time away from Autosport International, REM Surface Engineering returned to the show for 2011 and, following a successful event will again be appearing in 2012.

A leader in superfinishing and metal finishing, REM uses the Isotropic Superfinish Process (ISP), a revolutionary system for non-abrasive automated mass finishing that is claimed to produce more efficient uniform parts for increased performance.

Formed in the USA in the 1960s and originally named REM Chemicals, the company produced metal finishing cleaners for cutlery, plumbing hardware, aircraft engines and hand tool businesses. As demand evolved, REM expanded its products and services to vibratory finishing products, patenting the ‘chemical accelerated vibratory finishing' (CAVF) process, which is also known as the REM Process. As its business expanded into Asia and Australia REM trademarked the ISF process.

The company's credibility has come from decades of delivery to the aerospace industry, which, with its demands for fast reacting, innovative suppliers prepared the company well for expansion into the automotive and motorsport industries, where it has cemented its reputation. REM Surface Engineering will return to Autosport International in 2012 to reiterate its offering to the motorsport sector and the performance benefits that can be gained from its processes.
