For the second time this year, Apperley Honing, a leading subcontract honing business based in Cheltenham, is operating 24 hours a day in order to meet the demands of a particular contract.

The enquiry required over 8,000m of honed tube to be delivered to a tight deadline at the end of September. With over 20 types of commissioned honing machines at the Cheltenham-based factory and a team of skilled machinists, the customer needed reliability to deliver on time was as well as the skills required.

Marketing manager, Michelle Sanders commented: “Meeting the demands of our customers is top of our list of priorities and our ability to cope with large volumes with minimal notice is one of the reasons why we will be celebrating our 50th year of trading in 2013. We are geared up to be able to implement a night shift at short notice, ensuring 24 hour production without compromising on our standards.”
