Partnership enhances Farnborough attendance for MCM

Following the recent announcement that it had entered into a strategic partnership for sales of its machining centres and flexible manufacturing systems in the UK and Ireland, Italy-based MCM (Machining Center Manufacturing) reports positive results already at the Farnborough International Airshow.

“Farnborough is a very important exhibition for MCM as about 60% of our machines and systems are sold into the aerospace sector,” said Stefano Tirelli, sales area manager, MCM. “The partnership with RK International Machine Tools allowed us to get our message across to visitors and exhibitors at the Airshow and I am confident that our two businesses will grow together as a result.”

RK’s staff were present throughout the show to support MCM and this relationship generated a high level of interest in the machines and systems available, which extend from single machines with automation, through to complex multiple machine flexible manufacturing systems.

“One of MCM’s major strength points is the fact that we design and manufacture everything in-house, including the system management software (jFMX). This gives us an ideal platform to provide the customisation that our customers require resulting in the optimal solution for every production need,” Mr Tirelli added.

MCM machines are installed in a wide variety of customers from subcontractors through to tier 1 and OEM customers. The UK, and its important aerospace sector, is one territory that continues to provide excellent opportunities that this partnership aims to develop through RK’s extensive knowledge and experience of the UK & Ireland manufacturing sector. It will also give customers a more direct contact for any enquiries, customer service and support.

“Our machines and FMS systems can be complex so it was vital for us to develop business within the UK to have a local presence and one that understands our technology,” Mr Tirelli stated.

“As we saw at the Farnborough International Airshow, this partnership will result in closer ties with the UK and Ireland and from the excellent enquiries that we generated together, I am confident that we will be delivering our first machines to the UK in the very near future.”

MCM is based in Piacenza in the north of Italy and manufactures a range of 4- and 5-axis horizontal machining centres, all of which can be integrated with standalone automation or into flexible manufacturing systems.
