Based in Fagersta, Sweden, the new unit is located directly adjacent to the existing production facility and represents a total equipment and property investment of approximately £13.1 million over a period of two years.
"The investment should be seen as further proof of Seco Tools' long term commitment to establishing a position at the leading edge of technology and quality in the metalcutting sector,” enthused Kai Wärn, president and CEO of Seco Tools.
“Although the global production infrastructure is of paramount importance, developing close working relationships between production and development is critical for operations such as ours that offer customers value added products and services.”
A brief inauguration ceremony held in Fagersta was attended by Mr Wärn, board chairman Anders Ilstam and Västmanland County Governor, Ingemar Skogö.
