Real appeal

With 11 Doosan machine tools sold from its stand at a value of £1.15 million, 1,500 visitors and over 100 solid enquiries, MACH 2010 proved to be an important event in Mills' calendar.

The company used the show to launch a number of new Doosan machine tools into the market, including the new range of Puma lathes and the new Lynx 300 lathe series. Other new Doosan machine tools making their MACH debuts were the VC 630/5AX 5-axis machine, the MX 3100 mill/turn centre and a DNM 650 vertical machining centre equipped with Heidenhain control.

Mills' managing director, Nick Frampton remarked: “There was significant interest from visitors towards the new technologies on view and the machines sold during the show reflect both the comprehensiveness of the Doosan range and its wide ‘across the board' appeal.

“Of the 11 machines sold, four were from our lathe/turning centre range, six were from our milling machining centre range and one was from our MX range of mill/turn centres. The fact that three of these machine tool orders came from new customers is particularly pleasing.”
