Renishaw growth rockets in Russia

2012 marks the 10th anniversary of a number of Renishaw's international subsidiary offices, including Russian subsidiary, Renishaw OOO, which has offices in Moscow and Perm.

The anniversary celebrations included a boat ride along the Moskva River for employees and over 70 key customers during the Metalloobrabotka exhibition, passing famous landmarks such as the Kremlin.

Renishaw has been committed to the Russian market since the 1980s when it initially dealt through distributors. It opened a subsidiary office in Moscow in 2002 and added a regional office in Perm in 2004. Today the company employs eleven staff in Russia and in the past two years sales have grown over 200%.

Ben Taylor, Renishaw's assistant chief executive, spoke during the celebration, stating: “Renishaw is proud to be a supplier of products that help Russian manufacturers raise efficiency and quality. We remain extremely confident and excited about our future in Russia and believe that we are well placed to support future growth in this increasingly important market.”

Customers also expressed their appreciation for Renishaw's business support and professionalism over the past 10 years. Alexei Korukov, VNITEP general director said: “Without the professional and benevolent support of Renishaw during the early stages of setting up the business, the current VNITEP position as Russia's leading laser cutting machine manufacturer would not have been possible.”

Other Renishaw offices that opened in 2002 were: Renishaw (Austria) GmbH; Renishaw s.r.o., in the Czech Republic; a Representative Office in Hungary; and Renishaw Sp. z o.o. Poland.
