Business is booming for Hexagon Metrology UK as the company announces its best ever quarter sales of Romer Absolute portable measuring arms.

Demand has been boosted by the launch of a new generation of models as well as a new Compact version designed to make on the move measurement easier, according to the metrology solutions provider.

A new laser scanner, specifically for use with the Romer arm range, has also helped increase sales as it offers a complete rapid point cloud capture solution. With adjustable line lengths and faster data capture, the versatile HP-L-20.8 can be used for feature inspection, CAD, freeform surface inspection and reverse engineering applications.

The sales highpoint follows on from Hexagon Metrology UK's successful attendance at MACH last April where it secured a multi-million pound crop of sales enquiries.

“Our substantial investment in reorganising our national sales team, together with new IT and customer service systems, new precision centres and a bigger product portfolio, is beginning to pay dividends,” commented Brett Green, director of sales and marketing.

“We want to become the country's leading metrology solutions provider not only by improving our product lines, facilities and services, but also by developing closer, more responsive relationships with our customers,” he added.

Other new products already unveiled this year include the Tigo SF, a high accuracy shopfloor 3D coordinate measuring machine, non-contact WLS qFLASH portable white light system and wireless Leica B-Probe for inspecting large assemblies.
The company has also recently realigned its service and maintenance contracts into a single, new format and expanded its range of training programmes with a wide variety of new courses.
