On the 11th September, SolidCAM UK will be hosting a ‘learn and lunch’ event at its SolidCAM UK Technology Centre in Dodworth, Barnsley. The event will give visitors the opportunity to see the company’s CAM developments working in conjunction with products from workholding and gripping experts Schunk. The 10am till 1pm event will demonstrate how working with technology partners like Schunk can improve machine shop efficiency. With SolidCAM presentations throughout, the event will provide live cutting demonstrations on the ROMI D-800 vertical machining centre. Visitors will have an opportunity to discuss workholding with SCHUNK engineers, talk to Quickgrind about cutting tools, Romi UK Ltd about machine tool requirements, CGTech about CNC Simulation, BLUM-Novotest about In-process Inspection and Parmley Graham about smart collaborative robots. On the ROMI machine, Schunk will be demonstrating the versatility and flexibility of the Vero-S NSE plus modules as these clamping stations for general milling applications will be used as a basis for extremely fast set-up processes of clamping devices at the event. The gripping and workholding specialist will also be integrating its Schunk SPM Plus 138 into the machining demonstrations at the event. Delivering deformation-free clamping on the entire circumference of difficult to hold workpieces up to 125mm diameter, the SPM Plus 138 is anticipated to attract the attention of event visitors. Those interested in seeing the latest Schunk innovations working with technology from Romi UK, CGTech, Quickgrind, BLUM-Novotest and Parmley Graham, should contact Schunk for further details.
