A new agreement has been struck between Trumpf and Severn Manufacturing Systems, the supplier of reconditioned second hand Trumpf sheet metalworking machines. It enables UK companies, for the first time ever, to buy a second hand Trumpf machine directly from the manufacturer with its original specification guaranteed.
Through this arrangement, the customer can be assured that the used machine will be as reliable and productive as the day it was built. Its asset value is also greater than a machine bought from another source.
Severn Manufacturing Systems has been the UK's leading supplier of second hand Trumpf machines since the mid 1990s – indeed its founder, Dave McNally, was an area sales manager with Trumpf until 1992. With the association between the two companies now formalised, both companies can now focus on providing added value to every machine through their combined expertise.
Trumpf is now the single source for both new and used machines giving the company even greater scope to provide the best machine for the job. All refurbishment of the used machines is undertaken by Trumpf qualified engineers at Severn Manufacturing Systems and a standard six month parts warranty is provided as well as ongoing service, support and spares.
From its 15,000ft² facility in Worcester, Severn Manufacturing Systems currently has a healthy stock of used Trumpf punches, pressbrake and combination machines as well as a large range of second hand laser cutting machines. All laser machines feature laser resonators that have been stripped and rebuilt at the Trumpf laser technology centre in Ditzingen.
