XYZ Machine Tools service team gets a new look

As one of the largest suppliers of machine tools into the UK, the service team at XYZ Machine Tools is kept busy with annual service calls and installations.

As such the team needs reliable transport and also to have the right tools and equipment on-hand to help reduce downtime for customers. The recent arrival of its new fleet of Ford vans will help increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the entire service operation.

The XYZ Machine Tools branded vans have been equipped with the latest BOTT storage systems to ensure that each service engineer is fully equipped to deal with regular service calls. The interiors were discussed in detail and designed by BOTT for optimum use of space allowing us to carry more spares than in previous vans. To ensure that the interiors met the exacting standards each van was taken to BOTT’s Bude facility to ensure a secure and robust fitting, the result will ensure that the amount of time a machine may be out of circulation will be reduced.

The customer facing service has a 17-strong team of service engineers located across the country, who work alongside the internal service support team. The eight-person internal team is now located in a new dedicated service hub at XYZ Machine Tools Burlescombe headquarters, part of a new extension to the factory. They are available to talk customers through issues, many of which can be resolved over the telephone.

“Service support is a vital element of our business, the priority for our customers is to keep spindles running and regular servicing of machines and making that service as efficient as possible is crucial,” said Nigel Atherton, managing director, XYZ Machine Tools. “With the investment in this new fleet of vans and our service team in general, we are in the best position to continue to support our customers.”
