Six figure sale

Faro has announced an order taken during MACH, for the provision of multiple measuring systems to its longstanding customer and partner 3D Scantech.

3D Scantech is based in Coventry and offers measurement services. As an existing customer the company has been using Faro equipment for three years. The new equipment comprises three FaroArm Platinum, a Laser Line Probe, a Laser Tracker and two sets of Faro's measurement software CAM2 Q.

Jason Timms, director of 3D Scantech explains, “As we've seen the demand for measuring services increase over the last few years, we decided to adapt our capacities to the needs of the market. We've been using Faro measuring systems right from the start and know the equipment inside out.”

David Homewood, area vice president of sales for the UK, France and Benelux, is very happy about the strengthening of the partnership. “Being former Faro employees Jason Timms and Marcus Green are experts in the metrology field and very experienced in the use of our products.”

3D Scantech is using Faro equipment for various projects. One of the most eye-catching was scanning the heads of famous football stars to create a huge 3D poster for Nike. The sports company used the 3D data captured by the Faro Laser ScanArm to create its own interpretation of Mount Rushmore which, instead of showing American presidents, featured Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Theo Walcott and James Milner.
